EGNOS showed once again its robust design and its capability to cope with external events, in this case in front of the GPS Week Rollover event.
On Saturday 6 April 2019, at 23:59:42 UTC, the GPS Week counter reset to 0 for the second time during its lifetime with a high risk of undesired effects in any system making use of GPS.
ESSP and GSA closely monitored the EGNOS performance during the event and during the subsequent days in order to confirm that EGNOS was not affected at all by this critical GPS system event and showed an excellent performance at all times and locations within the EGNOS service area.
